Winter Wonderland in Diamond Valley

A lot of kids have stayed home from school to play in the snow with their 4 wheelers and snow mobiles. Yesterday, kids were playing in the neighbors yard with their 4 wheeler and slammed into our brick wall and busted out some bricks. Kids sure have fun!!! They were lucky they didn't get hurt.

Bringing wood to the home front

Well he leaned a pallet up against the wall and brought the 4 wheeler and trailor onto the porch. The wheel burrow just wasn't able to get through the snow

Then he unloaded the trailor

And did he use the pallet to go down, oh no, he went straight off the edge. It was funny to watch. But at least I now have plenty of wood for the day.

Senior Prom

Braquel preparing for Prom
Of course, we had a houseful of guests here watching the BYU vs Utah game. It didn't make preparing for prom easy. However....

Her best friend was here, lending support, even though she hadn't been asked to Prom.
Gotta love her!!

Her date was Tyler. He is in our ward. Can you believe she is wearing 4 in heels.

She's a beauty!!

We slipped in to the library took pictures and got them out the door, before any of the guests could give them a hard time. We are good!!!

Great Entertainment at Grandma's

A broom, Grandma's mittens, and a BUG

She was good for half an hour.
I don't know that the bug had much fun though.

Next came the frisbees.

She is good. Upside down and everything

And of course, the dog kennell. She wasn't happy unless it was latched shut.
I guess Grandma needs a playhouse. I hope Santa is listening.

Night Projects

As I sit on the couch in my family room, quietly reading a good book, I can see out my window. It's 8:00 pm and completely dark.... except for a light that is shining brightly.

It's Bruce working on another "Project". He has his flood light on and his headlight in place, and Dexter, the dog, at his side.

This time he is rebuilding our back fence to keep stray dogs out and our grandkids safely in. He is completely happy out there. The pre dawn hours have seen such sites also. What a gift he has given to my kids and me as well. The gift of work. The gift of creation. The yard we now have is all his creation.

Oh, I work out there by him most of the time (when its light), I pull weeds and help stack firewood, and keep the little garden going, but the overall plan and creation of the yard is all him. What a Man!! I get to just sit back and enjoy the beauty of his work.

Keeping the Home Front Warm

Cutting wood for the winter, is work, but also fun. Bruce got a new chain saw and boy can he get a tree down and chopped up fast now.

Braquel and I would then throw the wood into the trailor. It really stinks when you miss and you have to pick it up again and toss. We got to be pretty good aims.

Here he goes again

View of Pine Valley Mountain.

Can't believe we filled the trailor full. The more hands the quicker it goes. Bruce and I usually go by ourselves, but Braquel really added some great help.

View of the valley below.

The trailor we used was a dump trailor, so we just dumped it. Now we have to go stack it all. Anyone want some great exercise and help us out. Come on over..

CARROTS!!

This is just a few of many out in my garden. Many are grown, but few are chosen. I then chopped off the tops, and peeled, all of which then went to the composte pile. Never wasting anything, right????? And it gets used in next years garden.

Some were 2 - 3 inches in diameter.
Then we chopped them up and put them in the dehydrator. Did you know you loose only 3 - 5% of their nutiritonal value when you dehydrate.
Finished product.
I used some in my potato soup yesterday, along with some peas that I had frozen from the garden, and I might as well brag a little more the onions and potatoes were also out of my garden. The soup was yummy!!

What a Girl

Braquel is quit the girl!! I thought she was so cute as she left for school today, so I had to share her with you today.

This is her tennis coach. I used to babysit his older siblings when we lived in Richfield, and His dad was on my Dad's tennis team in Richfield. What a small world.

The Light of My LIfe

Everyone of us is born with a light, "that lighteth every man that cometh into the world." John 1:9. You can see it in our little new born babies that have just recently joined the family. They glow from having just been in God’s presence. The love that flows from them to us, is a message sent from Him above; a brief reminder of what we also once knew and felt.

Light feels good, dispels darkness, and forsakes the evil one. It opens our minds and hearts more and more to who we are and what we can become.
24 That which is of God is light; and he that receiveth light, and continueth in God, receiveth more light; and that light groweth brighter and brighter until the perfect day. D&C 50: 24
67 And if your eye be single to my glory, your whole bodies shall be filled with light, and there shall be no darkness in you; and that body which is filled with light comprehendeth all things. D&C 88: 67

Since this light comes from Christ, it is through contact with Him that we receive more of it. HOW? The price to be paid is quiet, focused, concentrated TIME.

Here she goes!!! Homecoming!!! She decided on Monday that she didn't like the dress she had picked out of Breonna's wardrobe, so she bought some material and came up with this. What a girl. Her date is Jeremy Slack, very nice guy, except he's a Utah Fan.
